As the stigma around mental health services have started to ease, more college students are seeking support than ever before. This demand has made waitlists for campus-based counseling commonplace, while many students with challenges do not receive support when they need it most.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced sales leader to join our mission as VP of University Partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of Talkspace’s newest initiative - to partner with educational institutions in an effort to tackle the growing mental health crisis among students. 

This role will have a direct impact on strategy, while working closely with our Business Development Team to identify and cultivate new partnerships within different educational verticals; Universities, Trade Schools, K-12, etc. Join us, as we become the leading telehealth therapy solution for students in need!

About the Role

As VP, you will utilize your deep market expertise and relationship management skills to develop a robust, multi-channel pipeline of opportunities that are aligned with Talkspace’s revenue goals. You will help strategically drive new partnership opportunities with Educational Institutions; selling into new segments, negotiating complex deals, and driving structure and accountability across the sales organization.

Sales Management

• Develop and execute on a comprehensive plan to sell our enterprise clinical services to the education market, targeting universities, K-12 schools, and other education systems. 
• Build and manage the entire sales pipeline from new business prospecting, to building relationships with potential clients and closing new business.
• Responsible for acquiring new business from employer  brokers/consultants, and other channel partners.
• Leverage best practices to identify customer needs and opportunities for Talkspace to competitively position and differentiate products and services for client business retention and new business growth.
• Become a product expert, providing dedicated leadership, coordination, and support to our strategic accounts.  

Sales Strategy

• Formulate and execute a sales strategy to maximize profitable business growth. Builde strong relationships with marketing, leadership, account management, industry SMEs and other areas; cross functional company engagement and orchestration is essential to your success. 
• Lead/drive the sales process and achieve objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analyzing data on past performance, and projecting future performance and revenue.
• Regularly engage with customer executive stakeholders and internal resources to ensure benefit adoption and  to help develop strategic business plans that support growth, provide measurable value, and increase client engagement/loyalty.
• Track progress of goals for revenue, conversion, and retention and be able to adjust accordingly. 
• Attend industry events and conferences to network and identify new business opportunities.
  
  

About You

• 10+ years of combined experience successfully selling benefits to educational institutions and working with benefit brokers/stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the value of our services
• Experience with CRM systems and sales tracking tools - we use Salesforce and Outreach
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field  (e.g. business, sales, marketing)
• Healthcare experience, Behavioral Health and/or the Telehealth space is considered a plus, NOT a requirement
• Ability to work remotely and travel as needed

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The base salary range for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
