San Francisco, CA

  • You will be responsible for organizing our broader Event Operations teams’ efforts for efficiency and quality to bring to life all live performance and physical aspects of our team’s content and experiential vision.
  • You will define department standards and best practices for events operations personnel, and enforce those standards to ensure quality across all of our products.
  • You will build a wide network of external partners to assist your team in delivering the best products possible.
  • You will use your expertise and industry knowledge to act as the central “hub” between cross functional teams as they collaborate on event operations related products.
  • You will manage scheduling, bandwidth, and resource allocation for a wide ranging portfolio of event products in which you will be the primary event operations stakeholder.
  • You will help shape every Twitch Esports event project as a senior voice and guiding hand to determine the “how” of our projects all over the globe.

  • Requirements
  • 7-10 years of operational event production/coordination experience in your background. Our ideal candidate understands project organizational needs at all levels.
  • At least four years of recent production team leadership experience at a director level or equivalent/higher. It will be your job to be the leading voice, guiding hand, and final line of defense regarding the quality and standards of very large, public facing projects. Your experience and past projects should demonstrate that you’re ready for this responsibility, and ready to lead and grow an expanding team of professionals you’ll manage to meet these demands.
  • Proven track record of leadership of broadcast oriented, multi-day live-spectator events with over 1,000 audience attendees. If you can provide sizzle/showreels, all the better.
  • A strong sense of project ownership and the commitment to go the extra mile. Aside from leading our internal operations team and primary vendors for broadcast and A/V, you will be tasked with leading/organizing all other on-site teams needed to make an event a success - labor teams, specialized vendors, janitorial crews, catering teams, etc. If it takes place on show site, it’s yours to own and lead - and our ideal candidate will demonstrate that sense of ownership in all of their thoughts and actions.
  • A creative spark and passion for designing and leading esports events which offer new experiences and standards of quality to our viewers, both live and online. Our team is one which has a chance to reinvent esports on a day to day basis. Your ideas for how we can improve current products and shape the future standard for the resulting content will have a chance to become reality as a senior leader on our team.
  • A willingness and availability to travel the world a significant amount of time each year in order to lead our projects in this senior role.
  • Training on existing project management and communication tools, and the desire to make sure that what you’re using is the best tool for the job.
  • The interpersonal skills required to navigate a multiple-stakeholder environment as part of a cross-functional team. You know how to get buy-in from all levels while continuing to drive success within your own team.
  • A proven track record of creating and improving processes. You don’t just inhabit a role; you make it better, and are willing to help others improve their roles as well.
  • Unshakable integrity. You will have access to proprietary information and must always put the community before yourself.
  • The forethought to thoughtfully escalate problem areas in advance. You aren’t afraid to ask for help early, and we won’t penalize you for raising concerns.
  • A wealth of clever ideas to remove or work around project blockers. You believe process is important, but not at the expense of results.

  • Bonus points
  • A deep rolodex of contacts and endemic knowledge of how to use that rolodex to fill gaps. And as our workload scales, you know the best professionals in the industry to whom we can outsource this work as needed.
  • Experience directly with esports live events. We want the best person for the job, regardless of if they’re joining us from a primarily esports background or not . However, any experience in leading production of video game live events is a bonus.
  • A native grasp of esports culture and lingo. As our leading event operations voice, you’ll be intersecting with game developers and industry professionals in ways that go beyond the nuts and bolts of production. Being able to “sling the lingo” and discuss not just your projects, but their place within the wider global gaming ecosystem will be a secondary demand of your position.
  • A network of esports and general gaming connections. Some of our best ideas come from our friends. We’d love for you to bring some to the party.
  • An active Twitch presence as a broadcaster, moderator, chatter, or lurker. We’re partial to folks who genuinely love our product.

  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Maternity & Parental Leave
  • Flexible PTO
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Amazon Employee Discount
  • Monthly Contribution & Discounts for Wellness Related Activities & Programs (e.g., gym memberships, off-site massages, etc.)
  • Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Served Daily
