Overview
As a Full Stack Software Engineer II at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will be a member of the Sportsbook Trading Solutions team. You are excited to build new things and do back end heavy full stack development. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and modernizing the tools and collaborating with vendors and other engineering teams to deliver best-in-class experiences for our trading team.
We are looking for passionate, talented engineers to help build our engineering organization, define our culture, and institute the best practices and technology. Through fundamentals and excellence in object-oriented design, coding patterns, modern open-source frameworks, and 3rd party platform integrations, we can achieve our goals to rapidly deliver and innovate in this exciting new market. This role involves direct collaboration with our design, product, frontend, and backend development teams to define and deliver world-class sports betting mobile experience. We are design and UX-focused, and we believe in turning complex problems into aesthetically beautiful and simple interfaces. We are one team; we employ the principles of data-driven development, operational excellence, process calibration, and efficiency to deliver a stable, extensible platform at scale. Responsibilities
● In this role you will be responsible for building systems and tools for risk and trading team to perform their daily functions effectively. Build Integration with various third party data providers to aggregate the market data to provide useful insights and build intelligent models across many sources.
● Develop a strong understanding of Fanatics Betting and Gaming.
● You will need a fundamental understanding of our product, feature set and roadmap, and work closely with product to make the right technology decisions to enable the team for streamlined growth and future development.
● Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inside of Engineering, and collaborate with leaders to define and deliver the correct feature.
● Help the development team define and adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of the engineering strategy.
● Remain current on technology and trends in engineering.
Qualifications
● We value aptitude over experience but here are some key skills that will make you successful on this team:
● 2+ years of back end object oriented programming experience (Java strongly preferred)
● Front end development experience with modern web frameworks like React/Angular.
● Experience with API development and implementation of RESTful services.
● Solid understanding of software security fundamentals.
● Effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, non-technical functional leaders).
● Understand business outcomes and drives technical solutions to help achieve our goals.
● Experience in Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology.
● Experience building highly scalable and fault tolerant systems in a highly regulated production environment.
● Excellent problem solving skills and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to embrace new initiatives.
