Position: Soccer Data Specialist

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to assist with football (soccer) analytics. The role will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and marking hundreds of different football (soccer) actions. This role will also have the opportunity to coordinate product and soccer content creation. This will be accomplished using in-house systems we have developed using tracking data.

What You Will Do:

Diagnose and correct play-by-play sequencing errors and/or eventing requirements for specific markings.

Mark a diverse set of actions within thousands of soccer matches.

Decipher potential failures across multiple systems troubleshooting, resolving then escalating to those specific system development teams when applicable.

Work with client-facing soccer analysis tools and data and contribute to product development brainstorming, planning, and technical implementation.

Create compelling content for distribution among customers, both media and league, as well as social media.

Requirements

What You Have:

3+ years relevant work experience

Experience playing or coaching soccer at a competitive level. Semi-professional or professional experience is a plus.

Experience with soccer analytics and advanced metrics is a plus.

Strong acumen for play-by-play sequencing.

Knowledge and experience with definitional soccer terms and markings.

Comfort with technical systems/comprehension.

Prior experience collaborating live with remote colleagues.

Understanding of the current landscape and recent past of major professional soccer leagues.

Attention to detail; speed and accuracy are a must.

Additional Position Details:
 

Must be able and available to work weekends.

Must be able and available to work according to the English Premier League football schedule (regular season runs August through May), which includes holidays during the regular season (including day after Christmas Day (Boxing Day) and New Year's Day).

Must be able to work according to the Major League Soccer schedule; regular season runs February through October.

Must possess flexibility, including early morning and late evenings, for football (soccer) league kickoff times.
