Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will lead part of our Back End Services team focusing on data ingestion from various sources and integration with various endpoints. Through continuous data gathering and data presentation, it creates an ecosystem that ties human behaviors to system data.  Through this ecosystem, we can offer the best services and game experiences to our members.  This role involves direct collaboration with our design, product, frontend, and backend development teams to define and deliver a world class sports betting experience.  We are one team, we employ the principles of data driven development, operational excellence, process calibration and efficiency to deliver a stable, extensible platform at scale. 

Responsibilities
      Recruit and build out a best-in-class Engineering organization to build scaled distributed systems and customer-facing features that are high quality and highly reliable.
      Manage one or more development teams.
      Develop a deep understanding of Fanatics Betting & Gaming and the opportunities for our customers.
      Identify technology gaps and opportunities, taking ownership for the technology roadmap within the space and ensuring appropriate engineering investments in the underlying platform.
      Drive predictability and reliability through Operational Excellence and create clear objectives and transparency through use of data and KPIs.
      Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inside and outside of Engineering, and collaborate with leaders to prioritize technical efforts and provide input on product features and capabilities.
      Provide leadership and technical expertise within the engineering organization.
      Be a mentor and role model for engineering.
      Remain current on technology and trends in engineering.
      Must be open to occasional travel to events and Bet Fanatics offices for various offsite and team meetings.
 
Qualifications
      5+ years of progressive experience in engineering management (but we always value aptitude over experience)
      Strong technical skills to translate business needs into engineering opportunities to drive the strategic agenda, in a continuous delivery environment.
      Hold a strong understanding of the cloud in industry/user and enterprise trends, with the ability to translate and leverage internal tools and systems to drive innovative solutions resulting in outstanding technologies.
      Demonstrated ability to partner closely with the engineering teams and implement appropriate tools and practices that balance quality with productivity.
      Experience managing one or more engineering teams responsible for a key strategic area
      Strong executive presentation and communication skills.
      Excellent influencing and problem resolution skills.
      Positive and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to embrace new initiatives.
      Strong report writing skills with the ability to gather, evaluate and analyze relevant information while structuring material in a logical and coherent manner.
