About the Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial at Headspace Health:
Headspace Health is looking to hire its first dedicated Commercial Counsel to join our legal team, and we think it’s a heck of an opportunity! How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace Health:
- You’ll be the primary POC for all things commercial contracts at Headspace Health!
- You will negotiate and advise on the full range of third-party agreements Headspace Health enters into: customer agreements, DPAs, BAAs, strategic partnership agreements, vendor agreements, etc.
- You will work with key stakeholders to oversee and improve various contracting processes, owning the workflows and forms and constantly looking for opportunities to reduce friction in the contracting process.
- You’ll solve puzzles- providing practical and creative legal advice across the business in a lighting-fast environment.
- You will have access to external and internal support resources and be in a position to grow the function.
- You will manage risk- collaborating with internal and external experts to ensure that commercial agreements appropriately manage risk and comply with policies, laws, rules, and regulations.

What you’ve accomplished:
- You have 5+ years of full-time commercial contracts experience practicing law at a law firm, and/or in-house (preferably substantial in-house experience).
- You have experience supporting health care, B2B and/or D2C services.
- You have a JD from an accredited law school and are admitted to a U.S. state bar.
- You’re a self-starter and a good teammate.
- You are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and have prioritized participating in DEI initiatives in past roles.
- You have excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- You’re experienced in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including master services agreements, business associate agreements, data privacy agreements, data sharing agreements, partner/reseller/channel agreements, and other outbound customer contracts.
- Experience working in-house with a fast-paced technology and services company in the healthcare space and/or a healthcare organization strongly preferred.
- You have experience advising on contract implications based on federal and state healthcare regulations and privacy laws (strong working knowledge of HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, etc).
- You’re willing and eager to take on new areas of law and function independently in a demanding fast-paced
- You can execute on projects that require significant cross-functional partnership.
- You have a philosophy that no task is too big or small and an interest in learning and growth.
- You are a big picture thinker and are able to effectively prioritize projects and workflow based on relative impact to the business.
- You are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity
