1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the vast majority do not get the care they need. The primary reason is cost: the majority of therapists do not accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is prohibitively expensive for prospective patients. This is where we got our start – Headway has built the first software-enabled network of therapists who accept health insurance, making it easy for therapists to grow their practices, and possible for patients to find quality care they can afford.
We launched in April of 2019 and are now powering 300,000+ appointments per month. To scale our vision, we’ve raised over $100 million in funding from a16z, Thrive, Accel, and Google Ventures.

About The Role:
Headway is growing fast, and we’re hiring our first Payer Marketing Lead, who will be partnering closely with our business development team to market and sell our product to health insurance executives. Reporting into the Head of Payer Marketing and Communications, this person will build out a robust sales enablement capability at Headway across decks, collateral, FAQs, white papers, case studies, webinars, blogs, landing pages, video and more. In addition, this individual will lead our team at industry conferences, events, and through Headway’s own series of convenings for both prospective and current health plan customers. Intimately familiar with the healthcare payer industry, we are looking for a candidate who comes to the table with creative ideas on how to strengthen our business development lifecycle, and is as comfortable analyzing complex data sets and finding the silver lining, as they are interviewing a customer to tell a rich story. As the first-in-seat Payer Marketing Lead, this person will build clear processes and structures that allow our payer marketing function to quickly scale.
