What you’ll be doing:

• Lead build-out of administrative systems (e.g. finance, HR, legal, reporting)
• Create, own, and maintain detailed financial models and budgets
• Manage the company’s financial accounts, payroll, budget, accounts payable/receivables, and cap table in conjunction with external accounting resources
• Work closely with CEO on establishing quarterly company goals, KPIs and forecasting resourcing needs
• Create reporting materials and presentations for a variety of stakeholders including company leadership and investors
• Support HR operations including employee onboarding, performance reviews, recruiting, and compensation/benefits
• Negotiate contracts with various partners and suppliers
• Establish foundational operations, legal, finance, and accounting strategies to enable rapid company growth over the next 12 months
• Oversee and support process improvement for day-to-day business operations
• Ensure compliance to company, federal, and local business requirements

What we’re looking for:

• 6+ years hands-on experience in an operational or financial role, preferably at a high-growth startup, financial services, or consulting firm
• Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and business analytics principles
• Data-driven mindset, strong business judgement and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy
• Highly analytical, with advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
• Excellent communication skills and experience leading engagements with external stakeholders
• Self-starter who is able to own complex projects with minimal input, break them into smaller components, and relentlessly drive towards execution
• You are comfortable with change and thrive in the environment it creates
• Experience building and leading people operations infrastructure preferred
• MBA or master’s degree in finance preferred

Location and Travel:

Candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Chicago, IL area are preferred, however a remote location with be considered for this role. This position may require 10-20% travel depending on candidate’s location.
