As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate with the art team to define the technologies that will deliver our shared vision for Destiny.

This role focuses on 3DSMax tooling, environment features and their associated workflows to unlock our creative teams potential. You will hone your skills to tackle a diverse set of visual challenges with an eye on sustainable solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES

Build out new tools to empower content creators to do their best work
Write new shaders and render features to upgrade the screen and delight our customers
Create tools to integrate 3rd party software such as 3DSMax, Houdini and Substance Painter in the artist workflows
Provide desk side tools support and troubleshooting to art team members
Provide guidelines for managing asset memory and performance across platforms
Provide classroom and written material to maximize content creator efficiency from regular education
Provide the technical component of look development with the Art Directors

REQUIRED SKILLS

Professional game development experience
Familiarity with Maxscript tool development
Strong aesthetic sense with a solid understanding of content creation pipelines
Service minded approach to supporting and enabling others
Ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision
Experience owning and troubleshooting stability, performance and memory issues on different platforms

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

Experience reading and writing shader code in HLSL or GLSL
Experience in developing C#, WPF, and/or Python tools
Experience creating new render features for an engine
Production knowledge of Houdini

Washington State Pay Range III

$154,000—$187,000 USD

Washington State Pay Range II

$122,000—$149,000 USD

Listed below is this role's base pay range. When a role is to be filled by candidates at multiple levels, more than one pay range will be shown. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bungie employees also receive:

Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) and/or Sabbatical (SAB) based on position level
- L13-L15: 20 PTO days
- L16-L17: 15 PTO days / 5 SAB days
- L18+: 10 PTO days / 10 SAB days
10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
10 paid Bungie-observed holidays each year
One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Washington State Pay Range I

$95,000—$120,000 USD
