We are looking for a Data Science Manager to lead all data science work in Europe, including our main offices in Helsinki and Oulu. We will favor applicants living in Helsinki or open to relocating there, but remote work from anywhere in Europe is a possibility for the right candidate.

You will empower and inspire a team of data scientists working on diverse problems. Examples of work currently underway in this team include: developing predictive models to guess which lifestyle choices led to measured changes in biometric signals; understanding the impact of exercise on health measurements; detecting and predicting hardware failures; and developing methods to measure and optimize sensor signal quality.

We’re looking for a “player coach”. As well as managing a team you’ll spend up to half your time getting your hands dirty with data science and machine learning work – either as joint projects with your team members, or by taking on your own initiatives from the huge variety of data problems at Oura. Your success will be measured primarily by the success of the team, both in terms of their technical output and their career satisfaction and personal growth. You’ll act as a thought partner to our Head of Data Science as we explore new ways of working and building our team, but also build direct relationships with stakeholders across the business in Europe, understanding how needs for data science will change and scale in a rapidly growing company.
